penthouse info
the most important for a pleasant stay in the sun.
more than a simple holiday rental.
in covid times, i discovered the canaries and las palmas as a place that is more than just budget tourism and all inclusive hotels. renting holiday apartments though always felt like staying in a cheap, impersonal place without a soul. non functioning knives and white lighting that made the room look like a train station were among the reasons to create this space that should be a home for family, friends and friends of friends.

washing machine
travel with less and just bring your favorite clothes. you can wash them anytime and hang them environmentally friendly on a rack on the balcony. canarian air dries them in just a few hours.
transportation
it is easy to get around the island(s), see how..
car rental
you dont need a car in las palmas but the island has a lot to offer! rent your car at hertz only 10min walk from the house.
bike (rental)
my favorite way to get around the city, for only €3.50 per month you can take citybikes from moxsi as much as you want (30min per ride), there is a station in 4min walk from the house.
car parking
coming with a car? there is a parking garage just 2 min walk from the apartment, reserving upfront saves $$! telpark
ferry terminal (other islands)
two companies, Armas and Fred Olsen, have almost hourly transfers to Fuerteventura, Teneriffe and other islands. you can walk to the terminal in about 15min.
airport (other islands)
taxi
there is no Uber (yet) on the island so you can hail one of the many cabs on the street. within the city, a ride is very cheap (e.g. €7 to the old town), rides to outside of the city are fared differently, e.g. a cab to the airport is about €40.
while a tram/metro line is in construction, buses (called guaguas) are the main mean of public transport. there is a dense network in the city with several stops around the house for inner city transportation. wider island transportation for example to the airport or to the south of the island is best taken from the st. catalina station (10min walk from the apartment). it is best to consult google maps for the schedules. payment is easiest done via credit card when entering the bus stating your desired destination to the driver (for out of city buses) or tapping your card (inner city buses).
